We are all designed to worship our Creator — through prayer and service and praise — both as individuals and as the church family. But sometimes corporate worship services can be challenging for those with sensory-processing differences. Here are five tips for hosting a sensory-friendly worship service. 1) choose lighting that isn’t flashing or extreme; 2) choose a moderate sound level that may be lower than the typical service; 3) help manage expectations by providing a schedule; 4) use creative teaching strategies and make it interactive; 5) set the expectation that everyone is welcome and they should feel comfortable to praise and worship without having to worry about being judged.
