We support videos hosted on Youtube and Vimeo. It is very important that Vimeo and Youtube URLs be in a specific format to embed properly in the Shine On video player. Incorrect URL formats will not work. The correct URLs are easy to create, but may require a little manual editing via copy/paste. Use the instructions below to create the proper URLs.
Note that video permissions must be configured to "allow embedding" before a Youtube or Vimeo video can be displayed on the Shine On website. You can allow embedding from any domain, or just add "https://shineon.org" to the list of allowed domains.
Vimeo URLs must be in the following format:
https://player.vimeo.com/video/801023868
Incorrect
https://vimeo.com/801023868
To construct the correct URL, copy the video id number (in this case “801023868”, and paste it onto the end of the player URL:
Correct
https://player.vimeo.com/video/801023868|
Remember: Video Embed Permissions must be enabled.

Youtube URLs must be in the following format:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyqQNqFS2mY
Shortened Youtube URLs and URLs with query strings attached to them will not work in the video player.
Incorrect
https://youtu.be/NyqQNqFS2mY?si=IKpBN-djevANzyBb
To construct the correct URL, copy the video id (in this case “NyqQNqFS2mY”, and paste it onto the end of the player URL. (Be sure to avoid the question mark and any characters to the right when copying the ID.)
Correct
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyqQNqFS2mY
Remember: Video Embed Permissions must be enabled.
